INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR MANAGING THE ASIAN CENTURY (ICMAC) 2017
Developing Asia is the most dynamically growing region in the world today, accounting for nearly 40% of global GDP with 9 of 11 Global Growth Generating countries (Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Mongolia, Philippines and Sri Lanka). From cars, smartphones and smart TVs to biotechnology and renewable energy, innovation is the buzzword synonymous with Asia's stratospheric rise. The issues of social inequality, conflicts of interest and pollution coupled with new threats of climate change, finite resources and middle-income trap need to be skillfully managed for sustainable growth. The governments, corporate leaders, and World Bank agree that new economic policies, breakthrough business models and inventive resource allocation ideas are necessary to propel Asia into the next level. ICMAC 2017 shares how to develop and manage today's innovation for securing Asia’s future.
ICMAC 2017 is the fifth annual conference following the success in Singapore (2016, Rise of Smart Cities in Asia; 2013, Rise of ASEAN;), Bali (2014, Integrating ASEAN) and Kuala Lumpur (2015, ASEAN Entrepreneurs in Technology). The four conferences brought together international investors, Asia and US inventors and innovators, and representatives of Asian governments. The participants came from incubation hubs of Asia, research think-tanks of Europe, and the Silicon Valley USA. Almost 20 international patents have been filed by participants after being inspired at the conferences.
The theme of ICMAC 2017 – Innovations in Smart Cities of East Asia – will host a gathering of like-minded people: international investors, Asia and US inventors and innovators, and representatives of Asian governments. Inventions and innovations for Smart Cities are likely to be in transport, supply chains, payments, education, health and smart landscape. The focus is on how we collaborate on developing inventions and innovations for Smart Cities across Asia.
We welcome contributions that draw upon contemporary ideas and developments in practices of management, education, organizational development, climate change, financial and economic planning and other areas significant to socio-cultural, environmental and economic development. Keynote speakers and participants will hail from USA, UK, EU, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, India, China and all of ASEAN.
