Personal Data Protection Act Policy

Introduction

International Centre for ASEANA Management (ICAM) is committed to complying with the Personal Data Protection Act (the “PDPA”) in the collection, use and disclosure of personal data which is in its possession or will come into its possession.

 

This Data Protection Policy (the “Policy”) forms the policies and practices adopted by ICAM in the collection, use and disclosure of personal data.

 

Personal data means data about an individual who can be identified either from that data and or from other information to which ICAM has or is likely to have access. 

 

Personal data includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • NRIC/FIN/Passport number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Marital status and spouse details
  • Contact information, including telephone numbers and email addresses
  • Name of employer and job title/position held
  • Financial information such as credit/ debit card numbers

Collection of Personal Data

International Centre for ASEANA Management only collects personal data that is reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the personal data is collected. The avenues by which ICAM may collect personal data include, but are not limited to: 

  1. Application form(s) submitted by an individual to ICAM, such as registration forms or other forms relevant to events and activities organised or managed by ICAM;
  2. Where an individual contacts staff or representatives of ICAM to make enquiries relating to any events, activities, courses or programs organised, conducted or managed by ICAM, whether such contact is by email, voice calls, or otherwise.

 

Purposes for Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

ICAM collects, uses and discloses personal data for purposes which may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Planning, organising and holding events, activities, courses and programmes;
  2. Administration and management of ICAM’s operations, functions or other internal matters as the case may be, including record keeping;
  3. To communicate with an individual in respect of any matters by reason of which the individual is reasonably associated with, affiliated with or connected to ICAM, whereby such communication may take the form of voice calls, SMS, other messages receivable on a mobile phone, email, fax or post;

Consent

Where an individual submits his or her personal data to ICAM, or participates in ICAM events, the individual is deemed to have agreed to and consented to the collection, use and disclosure of his or her personal data by ICAM for the purposes stated above.

 

Protection of Personal Data

ICAM would ensure that all personal data is kept confidential and accessible to only authorised personnel and for authorised purposes. ICAM will not disclose personal data to third parties without the consent of the individual.

 

Photographs and Audio/ Video Recordings

Through an individual’s participation and involvement in ICAM events, photographs and audio/video recordings may be made and used for corporate communications and publicity materials on various mediums such as print, digital, online and social media platforms.
